The Macon-Bibb County, Office of Small Business Affairs in partnership with three other local government agencies will host, Fall 2016 Vendor Fair, on December 8, 2016, 9AM – 2 PM at the Dr. Robert J. Williams Complex, located at 1780 Anthony Road in Macon, GA. The other sponsoring local government agencies are the Bibb County School District, the Macon Housing Authority and the Macon Water Authority. The fair is open to contractors, vendors, local businesses, DBEs, MBEs and WBEs in all sectors that provide goods, supplies, products or services that meet the needs of the government agencies.

Through their participation in the event, vendors will take away information about certifying their small local businesses through the county’s Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) certification program, information as how to register their business with Macon-Bibb County and the other agencies, and will be informed of future opportunities with all four sponsoring agencies (MBC, Bibb Co BOE, MWA and MHA).

The event will feature Mrs. Dorna Werdelin who is the Communications, Outreach and Marketing Director for the Georgia Department of Administrative Services. Her presentation will focus on opportunities for business owners to compete for state contracts, attain state certification and how her office engages in statewide outreach.

Registration for the event reserves each vendor a table. The tables will be used for vendors to share their expertise, goods and services with attendees. In addition to learning and sharing information, vendors will be able to pick up SLBE certification packets and Vendor registration forms. They will also be able to speak further with sponsors about the upcoming opportunities.

The agenda has been set. In addition to the keynote address by Mrs. Dorna Werdelin, attendees will receive business insight through a panel discussion. The panelist include:

  • Patrick Topping, President, MEDC
  • Alex Morrison, MBCG, Urban Development Authority
