An all-new pedestrian bridge is coming to Log Cabin Drive, as well as sidewalks, turn lanes, vehicle bridge repairs, and more. The Macon-Bibb Commission approved an agreement with R.J. Haynie and Associates for the $1.6 million SPLOST-funded road improvement project. The goal is to provide a safer place for the people living there to walk, bike, and drive, and details about the project and contract can be read in the full resolution by clicking here.
Recently, the Commission and Bellevue community celebrated the start of construction of Filmore Thomas Park, a $1.7 million park construction on Log Cabin Drive that, in conjunction with the road project, will be at the center of improving the entire neighborhood. You can watch a MaconBibbTV feature on that groundbreaking by clicking here, and see pictures of that event on the Macon-Bibb Facebook page.
